I wrote this book for YOU mama. There are books out there for girls going through puberty - but what about for the moms? And how much do our girls actually learn from those books anyway?
What if just handing them a book isn’t the most effective way to support them through all of this?
So many of us have residual wounding from our first menses and sexual experiences. This can color and impact the way we relate to and parent our daughters - especially during the puberty years. This book takes all of that into account, arming you with the tools to effectively navigate that material - so it doesn't get in the way of your parenting.
As moms, we aren’t just housing and feeding our children until they are of legal age to leave the house. We are in the process of shaping and molding future adult humans.
How we show up matters.
That is why I wrote this book for you. Because I know you care how your kids turn out, and I know you know that you have a role to play in that - even if you might not always feel sure how to play it.
If you’re new to holistic living or just starting to dip in your toe, I’ve got you covered. If your daughter was just born, is 5, 7, or 11 years old, you will find valuable information here.
Practical, spiritual and humorous, Path to Puberty spans it all.
As I mentioned, this book is packed with wisdom regarding womb health, menstruation, the divine feminine and more. Much of this wisdom comes from Indigenous peoples, and sharing it is only possible because of the elders who graciously contributed their time, stories and knowledge to be used throughout the book - for the benefit of moms and girls everywhere.
As a way of expressing my profound gratitude for the positive impacts that Indigenous wisdom has had on my life, and for the specific elders whom I have been working closely with for over a decade, 10% of the quarterly profits of this book over its lifetime will be returned to these cultures in 4 ways:
There are two grandmothers that I have direct and long-standing relationships with, Grandmother Nancy Andry and Nana Vilma Cholac Chicol, who will benefit from a portion of the proceeds of this book so that they can continue to travel, teach, buy groceries and do their sacred medicine work in the world.
Some funds will go to support the Medicine Wheel Ride, a group founded in response to the atrocities that are happening today against women on reservations across the US and Canada that Grandmother Nancy is a strong supporter of.
The rest will go to support the Nateema Jee Shuar Cultural Center in the Amazon, started by one of the first tribal elders I ever worked with, Natem Anank Nunkai, and continued in his memory by his wife and son.
So, know that by purchasing this book, and sharing it widely, you are contributing to these causes as well. Thank you.
A lot of parents make the mistake of thinking that they don’t have to deal with puberty until it is upon them, staring them uncomfortably in the face....
But this couldn’t be further from the truth!
If you’re married - how long in advance did you plan for your wedding? And that was one day, right? Puberty spans several years and so it only makes sense that we would want to prepare ourselves - and our children - for years in advance.
How we talk about bodies and how we show up in our lives around our children as they are growing and developing matters....
It impacts how accessible our communication with our kids will be as they grow into the really challenging years.
Will they trust us as a solid resource of information?
Have we given them reason to?
The time to start thinking about all of this is way earlier than we’ve been led to believe.
SO...
Don’t wait until your daughter is about to bleed to read this book!!!! While not all will be lost, there is so much value in here that it will be too late to implement by that point.
It is well established in the field of human sexuality and psychology that we do not start talking about this stuff with our kiddos soon enough.
So what are you waiting for?
For less than the cost of a massage or therapy session, you will have a lifetime of wisdom and expertise in the world of women’s wisdom at your fingertips - anytime you need it.
You will also contribute to the continuation of cultural wisdom and support those who provided that wisdom.
